The Department of Computer Science, in conjunction with the Department of Information Systems, is able to offer first class venues and equipment.
The Hamilton Building houses:
- two 51-workstation undergraduate computer laboratories for use by 2nd year and 3rd year Computer Science students, including fast speed printers.
- a 45-workarea Honours laboratory, each with individual PC, cupboard and bookshelves.
- a 14-workarea Masters laboratory
- four PhD offices, adjacent to a PhD laboratory
- three seminar rooms, including a rear projection screen and overhead projectors.
- an audio engineering laboratory, designed for research in this field.
- a systems development lab, including wall to wall white boards for teaching and implementing systems development projects
- a Centre of Excellence research area where the latest research is visible
The computing facilities used by students and staff are no older than 2 years, with a roll-over plan implemented to ensure state of the art equipment.
