September 2004: Nick Pilkington, a first-year BSc (Software Development) student, was a member of the successful South African team that took part in the International Olympiad in Informatics in Athens. The team of four South African students was among the 296 participants from 79 countries taking part in the sixteenth International Olympiad in Informatics in Athens, Greece. Richard Starfield of Wits University was the gold medal winner. Read more....
6 September 2004: At the industry dinner held in conjunction with SATNAC 2004, an award for the top student in the CoE programme nationally was made for the first time. This inaugural award went to Jason Penton, a Rhodes Computer Science PhD student. Visit the SATNAC website for more information on the conference.
July 2004: During the Rhodes University Centenary celebrations, several events were held in the Department. In particular, Pat Terry gave a humourous and nostalgic talk! Prof Terry's talk.
April 2004: At Graduation 2004, awards were made to students for their outstanding performance during 2003 and to two staff members for their outstanding contributions to the department. A new award was introduced for the best research student. Read on ...
