Progress Log
March 15, 2011 | Posted by Mathe

This page will attempt to provide major milestones of my work mainly from the perspective of my department. That is, whilst I may think I have made substantial progress in some random area, I might not rush to update the page until I have produced a paper. This is because I am currently being trained to think: you want to report anything, write a paper... finish and klaar!

Department Presentation

Officially presentated my PhD proposal to my department today (8th June 2011). My research being one of those "on the ground" type of research, I was a little bit anxious about making the presentation. But fortunately for me, I think my audience was very receptive :-). Although many of the points I made are not actually contained in the slides, below is a link to enable you to view them:

Principal Supervisor

Alfredo Terzoli: At heart, he believes while one may not receive a Nobel prize for their work, no contribution is invaluable. He believes creating hierarchies that suggest that some fields, area of expertise or any form of work is superior than others is a fallacy.

To him, any work done honestly and with the necessary effort that it deserves is worthy of recognition. As his student, you work hard, apply your grey matter and right/wrong, he already values your effort/contribution.
